January 2, 2013 1 Comment »

Huawei prepares a direct competitor to Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Expected to be officially announced at CES 2013, Huawei has finally unveiled the Ascend Mate, its new smartphone-tablet.

Specifications

The device will use a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) display, running at 1080p Full HD resolution for an impressive Retina-busting pixel-density of 361ppi screen of 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) which delivers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is equipped with the Huawey made HiSilicon K3V3 Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, couple that with 2 GB RAM and you have a high end smartphone-tablet to rival the Galaxy Note any day of the week. To take the power impact, the Huawey Ascend Mate has a 4000 mA battery.

Software

Naturally the obvious choice would be Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and Huawey haven’t disappointed. An amateur video from China showcasing the device currently circulating on the web:
