Yoga 11s

Lenovo is preparing the release of a new version of Yoga 11 Ultrabook, the contortionist Ultrabook which can be converted into a tablet. The new machine is called Yoga 11S. Physically, the only real difference from it’s 13″ big brother is that the 11s will have an impressive 1600×900 11.6″ screen and a slightly different casing.

The Yoga 11S is pretty sleek too, with dimensions of 11.7 x 8 x 1.7 cm. It weighs about 1.4 kg (just over 3lbs) and will be equipped with a screen of 11.6 inches, which should provide wide viewing angles thanks to IPS technology.

It’s an Intel world

The main differences between the models will be seen under the hood. While many other manufacturers are going with ARM processors and running Windows 8 RT (as the now available Yoga 11 does),  the Yoga 11S will sport an Intel Core i5 chip that is powerful enough to run Windows 8 “classic”.  This will mean that users will be able to install traditional x86 applications and won’t be as restricted as those running Windows 8 RT.

So what’s under the hood?

Lenovo has not released all the official specs of Yoga 11S yet, but it’s thought that the memory could reach around the 8 GB mark and storage would be left in the care of an SSD for even performance. The device will also sport a raft of standard ports like USB, HDMI and media card readers. The device is bound to be wi-fi and bluetooth enabled but we’re not sure if it will support 3G.

Yoga 11S is available in pink, grey and orange, at a price still undisclosed.
