Community Feature

After a lot of blood sweat and tears we have finally been able to announce are brand new RefuGeeks community. A while back we announced our community forums but we were never really happy with them. Traditional forums are old, awkward and very frustrating to use for many users. That’s why we’ve created this community, so let’s take a look at what is on offer in the brand new RefuGeeks Community…

Forums

Just like before, we still have a set of community forums, but unlike the other forums these ones are completely integrated into the RefuGeeks website (as is the entire community). You can start a new discussion on any subject, or take part in any public forum that’s on the site. Why not start out with the RefuGeeks Members Forum.

Groups

All members that join the RefuGeeks Community automatically become part of the RefuGeeks Members Group, but what if you want to create your own group? Well, we have you covered. On the RefuGeeks community you can create and manage your own public and private groups, all with their own forums,  members and activity streams.

Activity Stream

You know Twitter yeah? Well we have our very own Twitter type social network built right in. On RefuGeeks the staff aren’t the only bloggers here anymore. You can micro-blog, set status updates and interact with friends just like other social networks on the internet. Think of it as a brilliant mix between Twitter and Facebook!

Profiles, Friends & More

What’s the point of having a community if you can’t interact with other members? Well luckily we’ve thought of this too, within the RefuGeeks Community you have your own profile where you can tell people about yourself, add friends and of course send & receive messages with other members.

Conclusion

A lot of work has gone into bringing our fantastic readers this great opportunity to interact and form an amazing, close knit community of geeks. Today we have brought RefuGeeks one step closer to becoming a true refuge for all geeks!

So what are you waiting for? Get your account registered and start taking part in this amazing new community. I’ll see you there…
