Archos expands its range of tablets

French equipments manufacturer Archos has expanded its range of tablets with the new Titanium HD 97. Strangely this device bears a very close resemblance to the iPad 3, and goes even further! It features a screen similar to the Apple retina display.

Specifications

The Archos Titanium 97HD  features a dual core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU clocked at 1.6 Ghz, and 1GB of RAM. The device al sports a Quadcore ARM graphic-processor, running at 400 MHz. The screen displays a slab of 9.7 ” HD pixels at a resolution of 2048 x 1536.

The tablet includes two cameras. A front-facing camera (2MP) and the back-facing (5MP). Internal storage ranges up to 8GB which is then expendable to 64 GB through a MicroSD slot. The whole thing weighs approximately 640g and has an aluminium shell in the back.

All the usual suspects are also present such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & GPS. Dimensions:  240 x 184 x 9 mm.

Software

This device ships with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) pre-installed, and has no overlay software. So users will be getting stock looking Android as found on the Nexus range of devices.
