[Infographic] How Algorithms Changed The World

College Degree Search, has recently put online a rather interesting infographic on the algorithms that have changed the world. This picture retraces the history of algorithms and classifies them into four families according to their field of application:

• Operating systems
• Communication systems
• Research and geolocation
• Military applications (eg: The DoD Level Encryption Codes)

It gives us a good overview of the progress made by researchers and developers in computer science, as well as the actual place of algorithms in current human inventions.
