[Infographic] Samsung Galaxy S4 Hidden Innovations

The new Galaxy S4, even before its release promises innovations never seen before. Introduced last month at New York during a Samsung show, it comes with usual features (at least in appearance), but it offers the most high capacity sensors on the market at this moment…with 9 sensors in total that to do many, many things. We offer an overview of the opportunities announced for the Galaxy S4.
From the outset, a sensor recognizes hand gestures of the user using infrared technology, which can interact with the smartphone, without necessarily touching the screen. Samsung cites, for example a change of track playback, scrolling a web page, or receiving a call. This sensor is located on the upper part of the device, near the front camera. At the same place, we find a proximity sensor which controls the switching on and off of the screen depending on the position of the users face. This avoids unnecessary touch interactions.
A third sensor takes care of the measure of ambient light intensity in order to optimize the brightness of the screen and sharpness for each type of application. There is also a sensor which detects the inclination of the smartphone, to adjust the position of the screen, and scroll up and down. An accelerometer is normally involved in the measurement of the movements of the device. This time it will learn about the physical condition of the user, and can even act as a pedometer.
A sensor located at the base of the device, allows it to identify the levels of temperature and humidity of the ambient environment. The results can then be displayed on the screen. There is also a barometer, which provides information on the atmospheric pressure and a GPS which can be activated by voice control. Finally, a sensor measures the magnetic field associated. However, for the S View Cover (protection accessory), an on-board sensor allows the recognition of the opening and closing of the case.
